A few useful answers.

The details that matter before you use QIF Viewer.

Which QIF sections work?

This version supports transaction sections !Type:Bank, !Type:CCard and !Type:Cash. Investment and price sections are not supported.

How are ambiguous dates handled?

Automatic detection succeeds only when at least one date proves the order. Otherwise choose month/day/year or day/month/year before opening.

Are split transactions preserved?

Yes. The viewer and Excel workbook show split lines; JSON keeps them with each parent transaction. CSV contains parent transactions and a split count.

What currency is used?

QIF does not declare a currency in supported transaction sections. The viewer leaves currency unspecified instead of guessing.

How are amounts exported?

Amounts are exact decimal strings. Excel cells are text; CSV protects formula-like source values.

Does the file leave my device?

No. Parsing and exports run in the browser. Account and transaction details are excluded from analytics.

What are the limits?

UTF-8 QIF files up to 3 MB with at most 10,000 transactions and 100 splits per transaction are supported.
