The details that matter before you use Image to Excel.
Will it preserve every table?
No. V1 targets simple aligned tables. Merged cells, nested tables, handwriting, decorative layouts, formulas and original formatting are not preserved.
Can I correct recognized values?
Yes. Edit cells in the preview before downloading. OCR can misread characters or column boundaries.
Are numbers and dates converted automatically?
No. XLSX cells are stored as text to preserve leading zeroes, ambiguous dates and identifiers. No formulas are invented.
Can I process multiple images?
V1 accepts one image at a time to bound OCR memory. Clearly separated vertical table regions become separate sheets; side-by-side tables may be interpreted as one table.
Does my image leave my device?
Processing is local. Images, filenames and cell contents are not sent to analytics. English and Spanish OCR models load only when extraction starts.
What are the image limits?
Use one JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 15 MB and 20 megapixels. Upright, sharply focused text and clearly separated columns work best; review recognized values before exporting XLSX.
