Does my PDF get uploaded?
No. PDF.js reads the file in your browser. The document and extracted Markdown are not sent to application servers.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
No OCR is included. Image-only documents receive a clear notice. Mixed PDFs may contain pages with no extractable text; those pages are marked in the result.
What formatting is preserved?
The converter infers headings, paragraphs, ordered and unordered lists, simple aligned tables, and links where possible. Complex columns, merged tables, equations, and decorative layouts may need cleanup.
Can I use the Markdown with ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. Copy or download the text, review it, then use it in your preferred workflow. We are not affiliated with either service and do not send content to them.
Is the conversion free?
Yes. No account or payment is required. The current limits are 25 MB and 300 pages per PDF.
