Does my video get uploaded?
No. The browser downloads the local FFmpeg engine, then processes your video on your device. No file data is transmitted to our servers.
How long does video compression take?
It depends on clip length and your device. Browser encoding can take several times the video duration. Keep this tab open; the initial engine download is about 32 MB.
Can I compress to exactly 10 MB?
The goal is at most 10,000,000 bytes, not byte-perfect padding. A safety margin helps keep the MP4 below the cap.
Which formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, and WebM containers are accepted. Common H.264, VP8, and VP9 sources work through FFmpeg; codec support varies. Output is an MP4. Protected or unusual files may fail with an inline error.
Why is there a file-size limit?
Browser encoding holds source, output, and working data in memory. We cap input at 100 MB, 10 minutes, and 4K dimensions to reduce memory risk. Low-memory phones may still require smaller clips.
